TRAUMA-SPECIALIZED THERAPY IN BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI

There’s a reason you feel this way.

EMDR • IFS • Individual, Teen & Couples Therapy

Maybe you feel anxious, overwhelmed, reactive, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you understand but cannot seem to change. Your reactions did not come from nowhere. We help you understand what shaped them—and use specialized trauma therapies like EMDR and IFS to help your mind and body learn something new.

You Make Sense.

The ways you learned to cope, protect yourself, stay alert, shut down, overthink, please, perform, or keep going developed for a reason. Sometimes trauma is what happened; sometimes it’s what didn’t happen, or years of adapting to experiences your system wasn’t ready to hold.

Those patterns may have helped you survive, stay connected, or make sense of an unpredictable world—and they may still be shaping your emotions, relationships, body, beliefs, and sense of self today.

Healing begins with understanding

Understanding what happened, how your nervous system adapted, and why your patterns make sense. From there, we can help your mind and body learn something new.

Our Approach

thoughtful, individualized, and trauma-specialized

You do not need to know which therapy approach you need before you begin. We start by understanding you—your history, relationships, nervous system, strengths, goals, and the patterns that keep showing up.

EMDR and IFS are especially important parts of our trauma work. Depending on the clinician and your needs, therapy may also integrate attachment-focused work, EFT/relationship approaches, somatic interventions, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and other evidence-informed tools.

The approach should fit the person—not the other way around.

EMDR

(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a structured therapy approach that can help people process distressing experiences, memories, beliefs, emotions, and body responses that continue to feel unresolved.

IFS

(Internal Family Systems)

IFS and parts-based work can help people become curious about the protective parts of themselves that learned to manage pain, danger, conflict, or disconnection—and develop a more compassionate relationship with those patterns.
